At Karel Komárek Family Foundation, we place great emphasis on protecting the personal data of our partners and the people we come into contact with as part of our activities. We take the legislation for personal data protection (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR) seriously and have implemented it into our internal procedures and policies.

Karel Komárek Family Foundation, a foundation with its registered seat at Evropská 866/71, 160 00 Prague 6 ‑– Vokovice, ID No.: 06212093, registered in the Foundation Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague under file no. N 1525 (hereinafter the “Foundation” or “we”).
To operate and fulfill the purpose of the Foundation, we occasionally need the personal data of specific individuals. We collect and retain your personal data based on at least one of the following legal reasons:
- Fulfillment of a contract: in order to conclude and execute a contract, we need your basic identification and contact details or similar data about other persons (e.g. contact persons, etc.).
- Compliance with legal obligations: in some cases, we can have or keep your personal data if required so by law (e.g. the Act on Accounting).
- We may have your personal data on the basis of Your Consent: if we process your data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- Legitimate Foundation interest: The Foundation may process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest, such as protection against potential legal disputes, or distribution of information on grant calls, projects, and other Foundation activities (e.g., educational opportunities).
DATA PROCESSING PERIOD
We process personal data solely for the period absolutely necessary. Once we are no longer authorized to process your personal data, we delete it or anonymize the documents in which it is contained.
SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA
As part of the Foundation´s operations and functioning, we use external collaborators or service providers who may have access to personal data while providing their services. We try to select only such processors who provide sufficient guarantees for personal data protection and we contractually oblige them to do so.
As part of our CRM database management and the distribution of marketing communications, we use the following service providers, who act as processors of your personal data:

YOUR PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS
Right to Access your personal data – you have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether we are processing your personal data, and if so, you have the right to access such personal data and information e.g. about the purpose of processing, who are the recipients of the personal data, what is the planned duration of retaining this personal data, etc.
Right to Rectification – you may ask us to correct or update inaccurate personal data concerning you.
Right to Erasure – you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. This applies, for example, in the situation in which we no longer need your personal data for the purposes for which it was processed. We also delete your personal data when you withdraw your consent to processing and no other legal ground for processing exists.
Right to Restriction of Processing – you may request that we limit the processing of your personal data, e.g. when you raise an objection to processing and we need time to assess your claim.
Right to Data Portability – in the event you have provided us with your personal data and we process it automatically (electronically based) on consent or to fulfill a contract, you have the right to obtain your personal data in a commonly used, machine‑readable format and request its transfer to another controller. Alternatively, you may specify to whom we should pass on this personal data directly.
Right to Object – if we process your personal data based on our legitimate interest or send you newsletters or other informational communications, you can object to such processing at any time. Unless we have compelling legitimate reasons for processing, we will stop processing and delete your personal data (in the case of newsletters or other informational communications, we will always do so after your objection).
Right to Withdraw Consent – if we process your personal data based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. If no other legal ground for processing exists, we will cease processing your personal data as per your request.
Right to Lodge a Complaint with a supervisory authority – if you believe your personal data is being processed in violation of GDPR, you have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority. The relevant supervisory authority in the Czech Republic is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

In the event that we are unable to verify your identity, we may not be able to process your request. Your request will be processed within 30 days of submission. Under certain circumstances, this period may be extended twice by additional 30‑day period.
