The foundation established by Štěpánka and Karel Komárek has decided how to allocate the 150 million CZK in financial aid following the June tornado in South Moravia. Nearly a third of the funds are being quickly distributed as direct assistance to affected families. The remaining 100 million CZK will be dedicated to the long‑term restoration of damaged public spaces in Hodonín. This effort will be led by Komárek’s second foundation, Proměny, which, in close cooperation with the city, will focus on the permanent transformation of four key areas in the popular suburban forest Bažantnice.

The unprecedented natural disaster in the Hodonín region sparked an extraordinary philanthropic response from the entire Czech public. The Karel Komárek Family Foundation (KKFF) immediately got involved alongside the people and provided 150 million CZK in aid. Thanks to this donation, Hodonín, the hometown of entrepreneur Karel Komárek, will receive support for transformations in the popular suburban forest Bažantnice, specifically for the House of Nature, sports facilities, the forest park, and the area in front of the elementary school.

The Karel Komárek Proměny Foundation will contribute 100 million CZK and expert assistance to projects in the forest park and its surroundings. The sports facilities will undergo temporary and later permanent reconstruction. The destroyed forest park will see new tree planting and the addition of park furniture. More trees will also be planted in front of ZŠ U Červených domků, where the grounds for children will be restored and improved. In parallel, the foundation will also provide grant funding for the transformation of the House of Nature. All interventions will be carried out in close cooperation with the city of Hodonín.
